5 Tips for Mastering the Dog Walk

Taking your dog for a walk is a simple but effective way to exercise him. A walk can give
more than simply a washroom break for your dog. It not only keeps your dog fit, but the
sights, sounds, and smells they encounter along the journey also provide lots of mental
stimulation.
Here are 5 Tips for Mastering the Dog Walk
1. Walk-in Front of Your Dog
You can be considered the pack leader if you walk in front of your dog. On the other hand, if your dog leads you on a walk, he is the pack leader. It would help if you always were the first one out the door and back in. During the walk, your dog should walk beside or behind you.
2. Use a Leash for Your Dog That Isn't Too Long.
You have more control with a short leash. Consider using a harness to help you keep your puppy under control. If you use a collar, putting the leash to the very top of the dog's neck will make it easier for you to speak with, guide, and correct your dog.
3. Bring some treats
There are several essential items to remember when walking your dog, but they should be near the top of the list. Treats are helpful in various situations, such as rewarding your dog for walking politely on the leash, greeting visitors peacefully, or simply being a good dog.
4. Ensure safety
Animals are more vulnerable to danger than humans, but there are ways to keep them safe in public places. One obvious solution is to make sure our pets' microchips and external identification (connected via collar) are up to date and in place.
5. Bring poop bags
Be mindful of any 'litter' your dog may leave behind if they are sentient garbage disposals for food. We're not talking about litter trays here, which are two completely different types of pet waste disposal. Because well-trained dogs will do their business outside, walk time will be an opportunity for them to let loose.
If you bring poop bags with you on your walk, you'll be ready to pick up any 'litter.' You're showing to others that you're a responsible dog owner by cleaning up your act. You're also contributing to Mother Nature's well-being.
